Paul Greenwood, founder of Paul M. Greenwood & Co, one of the first boutique accounting firms in Australia, has spent most of his time lobbying for small businesses. Paul Greenwood was involved in bringing about the changes in tax laws associated with the small businesses and was also actively involved in the establishment of the Council of Small Business Organizations of Australia (COSBOA).

Australia's total tax stake represents 31.8% of GDP, making it the sixth most taxed economy. The Treasury Secretary, Ken Henry in his post-budget speech, called for lower personal income tax rates that would be part of sweeping reforms needed to finance the ageing population.
