The real-time costs of dealing online

Article Abstract:

Internet broking is becoming more popular in the United Kingdom, though the market is still underdeveloped, with low trading volumes. Dealing services vary, and around two thirds of brokers do not offer trading in real time. The web site is used in these cases to send e-mail orders just as faxes and phones are used to send orders. Real-time stock price data is also expensive. There may be annual membership fees, account service fees or higher commissions when trades are carried out.
