The same old changes again

Article Abstract:

The management of change has become one of the major concerns of companies in recent years. The issue has fascinated the public, causing fear in many people. However, despite their apparent resistance, people actually welcome change. This is evidenced by their easy acceptance of such revolutionary inventions as the washing machine, the refrigerator and the microwave. What happens is that people quickly forget that change has occurred, so they become apprehensive when they are again faced with something new. In the business sector, changes have been occurring for years but they have only drawn the public's attention recently. These changes include the steady move to part-time work and the improvement of customer service. It should be emphasized that changes in the employment patterns only mirror the economic cycle and not any societal restructuring, and therefore should not be feared.

Good timing

Article Abstract:

Time pressure is largely illusory, since people take time for whatever they feel is important. Time can be divided into work, time committed to personal priorities, to "wasted" time without specific goals, and into "time robbery," that spent in frustration.
