Grund (Mlade Buky, Czech Republic), bath mat manufacturer, saw a total turnover of over CEK 323 mil in 2000. The firm exports 80% of its production. It consists of three firms and has about 200 employees. The firm's co-owner is Mrs. Grazyna Grund who has been awarded the prestigious award the Leading Businesswoman of the World by The Star Group (US). The businesswoman set up Grund with her husband Jiri Grund and sons Jiri and Jan in January 1990.

Cutisin increased its profit by one-tenth

Cutisin (Jilemnice, Czech Republic), artificial skin manufacturer, saw a profit of CEK 347.09 mil in 2000, 10% more compared to 1999. The firm's proceeds totalled CEK 1.48 bil in 2000, 7% more compared to 1999. Cutisin manufactures artificial skins for the meat, poultry and milk products industries. The firm has had a 95% stake held by the food products company Devro (UK) since the beginning of 1996.
