Article Abstract:
University of Arizona's Career Week program features an innovative approach to career planning. The program aims to serve the students, employers and the faculty by defining their roles in career planning and development. Students are exposed to different aspects of career planning services and are tasked to organize and market the Career Week program. Employers can present students with potential employment options and career information. Meanwhile, the faculty meet more employers, gain new insights on career planning services and enhance the credibility of their profession

National Assn of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Pres Denise Dwight Smith feels satisfied with the steps taken by the organization in serving its members needs. In 1998, the NACE has allowed a wider representation of its diverse members to the national board and has developed a professional standard for college placement services professionals. It has prepared a plan for future professional development through partnerships with similar organizations. Smith is the director of the university career center at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, NC.
