Whose liability is this? Sorting out legal obligations in cooperative education
Article Abstract:
Cooperative education deals with student-school, student-employer, and school-employer relationships. The student-school relationship is successful when the student performs his assigned projects and the school gives him a conducive working atmosphere. The student-employer relationship is accomplished when the student finishes his tasks by following regulations set by the employer, and the employer endows him with the necessary training. The school-employer relationship is legally confusing, for the liability for an injury caused due to the behavior of a student may lie with either the school or the employer.

Does alcohol have a place in recruiting?
Article Abstract:
The National Assn of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has investigated situations wherein college students applying for jobs were served alcoholic drinks during their recruitment receptions. NACE members concurred on the unacceptability of the practice citing ethical reasons. Acceptance of applicants should not be considered on the basis of their behavior during the social event. Employers were counselled on holding informal recruiting functions.
