Dynamics of electron injection and recombination of dye-sensitized TiO2 particles
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the electron injection and recombination dynamics of the dye fluorescein 27 adsorbed on a titanium dioxide (TiO2, anatase) surface. The TiO2/dye system had to be characterized using steady-state spectroscopy before time-resolved experiments could be carried out. The vibrational cooling, solvation or structural relaxation of the initially hot product demonstrate a dynamic process involving relaxation of the potential energy of the radical leading to a dramatic decrease of the recombination reaction rate with time.

Electron spin resonance of Ni(I) in Ni-containing MCM-41 molecular sieves
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to hydrothermally synthesize NiMCM-41 and NiAlMCM-41, with Ni(II) being added to the synthesis mixture. There is spectroscopic evidence for nickel ion incorporation into the MCM-41 framework.
