Characteristic structure and environment in FAD cofactor of (6-4) photolyase along function revealed by resonance Raman spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The resonance Raman spectra of pyrimidine-pyrimidone (6-4) photolyase from Arabidopsis thaliana having neutral semiquinoid and oxidized forms of flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) cofactor is investigated. The Raman spectral characteristics have shown strong H-bonding interactions, a fairly hydrophobic environment and an electron-lacking feature in benzene ring of the FAD cofactor, which controls the reactivity of (6-4) photolyase.

Photophysical and structural features of covalently bound peptide-protoporphyrin-peptide compounds carrying naphthalene chromophores
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the photophysics of covalently bound peptide-protoporphyrin-peptide compounds carrying naphthalene. Results demonstrate that interconversion among conformational substrates of probe linkages is slow.
