Characterization of silica-supported Pd-Au clusters by X-ray absorption spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
A study relating to research on the applications of bimetallic catalysts especially Pd-Au catalysts was conducted to investigate the structures of silica-supported Pd-Au clusters prepared using variations on a particular method developed by two scientists. The reduced catalysts were characterized by a variety of edge X-ray absorption spectroscopic techniques. Experimental methodology, results and implications are discussed.

Contrasts in the 77k emission spectra, structures, and dynamics of metal-to-metal and metal-to-ligand charge-transfer excited states
Article Abstract:
A comparison to determine the factors dominating inverted region electron transfer of the varying trends of back electron transfer (or nonradiative decay) of metal-to-metal charge transfer (MMCT) to metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited states of simple transition metal complexes, is done. The model provides a good base for qualitatively distinguishing various classes of excited-state dynamic behavior.
