Particle distribution in a microporous material
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine particle distribution in a microporous material. An investigation of independent particles in a box case led to the development of a thermodynamic description of internal occupation equilibria that is relevant in microporous material. Results provide evidence that the usefulness of the independent particles in boxes with various sites for investigating the characteristics of microporous material as a function of the average exchange degree.

Energetically favored formation of MCM-48 from cationic-neutral surfactant mixtures
Article Abstract:
MCM-48, the cubic mesoporous silica molecular sieve, was synthesized as an energetically favorable mesophase. The procedure utilized the surfactant mixtures between polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers and alkyltrimethylammonium bromides and sodium silicate as its source of silica. The methodology, with yield amounting to 4.2 mol of SiO2 per surfactant, demonstrates the increasing use of mixed surfactants for synthesizing mesoporous molecular sieves.
