Multinuclear NMR investigation of Al(NO3)3 and morpholine dissolved in water, in the presence and absence of HF
Article Abstract:
Aqueous solutions containing 2 M Al(NO3)3 and 2.1 M morpholine with and without the addition of 1 M HF was investigated using multinuclear nuclear magnetic resonance measurements. Results suggested that morpholine is an inert specie. Moreover, morpholine can be used as a probe molecule to estimate the pH of the solution since its proton and carbon shifts in the two solutions exhibit the same pH dependence.

Multinuclear NMR analysis of SAPO-34 gels in the presence and absence of HF: the initial gel
Article Abstract:
Multinuclear nuclear magnetic resonance was used to characterize the complex chemistry within the gels prepared for the synthesis of SAPO-34 with morpholine as a structure-directing agent. Results suggest that morpholine is an inert specie at room temperature regardless of the presence or absence of HF. Moreover, the pH of the systems can be determined by the proton and carbon chemical shift of morpholine.
