Computational study of the dynamics of mannose disaccharides free in solution and bound to the potent anti-HIV virucidal protein cyanovirin
Article Abstract:
A computational study of the dynamics of the potent anti-HIV virucidal protein cyanovirin in complex with mannose disaccharides is presented. Also, the distribution of glycosidic torsional angles of mannose disaccharides in solution were studied and compared with those when bound to the high-affinity site preserves of the most favorable conformation in solution while the sugar bound at the low-affinity site does not.

A new model for nanoscale enamel dissolution
Article Abstract:
Calcium apatite is the main constituent of many biological hard tissues such as dental inorganic tissues, and its chemical behavior forms a model for the study of important biological phenomena such as caries lesion formation. The model is validated by extensive experimental data for the dissolution of sparingly soluble minerals such as the calcium phosphates.
