Conductive effect of gold nanoparticles encapsulated inside polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers on electrochemistry of myoglobin (Mb) in [{PAMAM-Au/Mb}.sub.n] layer-by-layer films
Article Abstract:
The sixth-generation polyamidoamine (PAMAM) with terminal amino groups on its surface is used as a template in the preparation of Au nanoparticles and the formed PAMAM-Au nanocomposite has taken the PAMAM-encapsulated Au structure. The {[PAMAM-Au/Mb}.sub.n] films have displayed a much better electrochemical and electrocatalytic properties, showing the conductive effect of Au nanoparticles inside PAMAM on bridging electron transfer between Mb and PG electrodes.

Kinetic stabilization of growing gold clusters by passivation with thiolates
Article Abstract:
Small gold clusters (< 1 nm), protected by monolayers of glutathione, N-(2-mercaptopropionyl)glycine, or mercaptosuccinic acid, are prepared by reducing the corresponding Au(I)-thiolate polymers and are fractioned by size using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The observation implies that deformation of the underlying gold cores is induced by interligand interactions.
