Cooperative H-bonds of macromolecules. 1. Binding of low-molecular-weight ligands to polymers
Article Abstract:
Spectroscopic (NMR) and theoretical methods were used to study the equilibrium bindings of two low-molecular-weight hydrogen bond acceptor ligands, tetrahydrofuran (THF) and pyridine (PH), and their fully deuterated analogues (TDF, PD) with poly(4-vinylphenol) (PVF). It is found that the PD and PH bind somewhat stronger than tetrahydrofuran-d(sub 8) (TDF) to PVF, although high-precision quantum-mechanical calculations do not predict such a large difference.

Metal filament growth in electrically conductive polymers for nonvolatile memory application
Article Abstract:
The solution processable polymers that can reproducibly form metal filament by applying voltage are examined for nonvolatile memory application. The switching endurance of the best polymer is measured in order to evaluate the memory performance of the metal filament based organic memory.

The selective formation of Did-sigma N-Is linkages in pyridine binding on Si(111)-7 * 7
Article Abstract:
The covalent binding of pyrazine on Si(111)-7*7 is investigated. It is concluded that the di-sigma binding of the two para nitrogen atoms of pyrazine takes place with an adjacent adatom-rest-atom pair on Si(111)-7*7, forming a 1,4-N,N-dihydropyrazine-like structure.
