Crystallization and shape evolution of single crystalline selenium nanorods at liquid-liquid interface: From monodisperse amorphous Se nanospheres toward Se nanorods
Article Abstract:
The chemical reduction of selenious acid solution with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) has produced a stable dispersion of monodisperse amorphous selenium nanoparticles capped with PVP and a size of 100nm. The results have shown that the enrichment of nanoparticles with amphiphilic property onto a liquid-liquid interface between a polar solvent and another solvent of low polarity can result in crystallization and phase transformation for the formation of nanostructures.

Synthesis, characterization, and growth mechanism of self-assembled dendritic CdS nanorods
Article Abstract:
A simple evaporation-condensation method to synthesize self-assembled dendritic CdS nanorods with different geometrical configurations is discussed. The self-assembly growth of dendritic CdS nanorods is an important step toward the fabrication of the CdS nanoscale optoelectronic devices.
