DNA-chlorophyllin interaction
Article Abstract:
The interaction between calf-thymus DNA and chlorophyllin was investigated in aqueous solution at physiological pH using Fourier transform infrared difference spectroscopy. To this end, the chlorophyllin binding mode, sequence selectivity, binding constant, DNA secondary structure and structural variations of the DNA-chlorophyllin complexes were examined. Experimental results showed that chlorophyllin binds DNA at low pigment concentration via intercalative mode into the G-C and A-T-rich regions with a minor interaction toward the backbone PO2 group.

Single-molecule visualization of interaction between DNA and oppositely charged mixed liposomes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the interaction between large single phase T4 DNA and mixed cationic dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide/dioleoyl phosphatidylethanolamine liposomes using fluorescence microscopy. Results indicated that higher fluorescence intensities correlated with the higher segment spatial densities along a single DNA chain. Findings also showed that the concentration of cationic lipid required for the collapse of single DNA molecules correlated with the composition of the charged mixed liposomes.
