Designing carbon nanotube membranes for efficient water desalination
Article Abstract:
The molecular dynamics simulations study of the transport of water and ions through membranes formed from carbon nanotubes ranging in diameter from 6 to 11 Angstrom is reported. The findings show that the porous membranes incorporating narrow carbon nanotubes could achieve water desalination with flow rates far exceeding existing technologies.

Diffusion of liquid domains in lipid bilayer membranes
Article Abstract:
Domain diffusion is studied as a function of composition and temperature and is measured how diffusion depends on domain size. Mechanisms of domain diffusion are consistent with membrane-dominated drag in viscous [L.sub.o] phases and bulk-dominated drag for less various [L.sub.[alpha]] phases.

Probing the Link between Proton Transport and Water Content in Lipid membranes
Article Abstract:
The rate of transport across lipid membranes is anomalously high as compared to other monovalent cations. An increase in the level of cholesterol resulted in a decrease in the rate of proton transport and increase in both the peak value and width of the lifetime distribution of Nile Red.
