Effect of the volume fraction on the average flocculation rate
Article Abstract:
The dependence of the flocculation rate on the volume fraction of particles is studied using the Brownian dynamics simulations with proper account of hydrodynamic interactions (HI). The results are compatible with the predictions of Smoluchowski theory for a limited but ample range of volume fractions if the flocculation constant is used as an adjustable parameter, sensibly dependent on the value of oslash.

Multicomponent diffusion in systems containing molecules of different size. 2. Mutual diffusion in the ternary system pentaethylene glycod-triethylene-water
Article Abstract:
The diffusion coefficients of the ternary system pentaethylene glycol-trethylene glycol-water are measured at five compositions at constant total solute concentration. A theory that is an extension of the current hydrodynamic equations for calculations of D(sub ij) is tested on this ternary system.

Kinetic theory derivation of the transport coefficients of stochastic rotation dynamics
Article Abstract:
The continuum Navier-Stokes and heat conduction equations for stochastic rotation dynamics, a particle based algorithm for simulating a fluid is derived using a kinetic theory approach. The expressions for the viscosity and thermal conductivity in two or three dimensions are obtained and analyzed.
