Determination of micellar microenvironment of pinacyanol by visible spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The interaction of pinacyanol, a cationic cyannie dye (PIN), with Triton X-100, sodium dodecyl sulfate, and alkyltrimethylammonium bromide micelles was studied by visible spectrophotometry. PIN exists as a monomer and in aggregated form (dimers, trimers, and higher aggregates) in aqueous solution, but dimers and higher aggregates were split into monomers in the presence of surfactants (or on addition of organic solvents).

Salt-induced vesicle formation from single anionic surfactant SDBS and its mixture with LSB in aqueous solution

Article Abstract:

Vesicles can be formed spontaneously in aqueous solution of a single anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate (SDBS) just under the inducement of salt, which makes the formation of the vesicle easier and simpler. It is found that the vesicle size is independent of the surfactant concentration but subject to the salinity and the mixing ratio of the two surfactants.

Evidence of the existence of micelles in the fibrillogenesis of beta-amyloid peptide

Article Abstract:

The existence of micelles in the fibrillogenesis of Abeta is demonstrated. It is suggested that to maintain the universality of the kinetic curves above the critical micellar concentration (CMC), a direct connection between micelles and nuclei must exist.
