Determining thermodynamic parameters from isothermal calorimetric isotherms of the binding of macromolecules to metal cations originally chelated by a weak ligand

Article Abstract:

An accurate data analysis method is described for determining stoichiometry and thermodynamic parameters from isothermal titration calorimetry data for the binding of macromolecules to metal cations that are solubilized through an association with a weak ligand. This method is used for determining the binding constant for the association of Cu(II) to the first 16 residues of the AlzheimerEs amyloid [beta] peptide under conditions where Cu(II) is soluble through weak binding to glycine

Application of chelate phosphine oxide ligand in Eu(super III) complex with mezzo triplet energy level, efficient photoluminescent performances

Article Abstract:

The chelate phosphine oxide ligand bis(2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl) ether oxide (DPEPO) ligand was used to prepare the complex Eu(TTA)3(DPEPO). Experiments demonstrated that the chelate phosphine oxide ligand DPEPO is not only favorable to form the rigid and compact complex structure which is important to avoid structure relaxation in excited state, but also improves energy transfer between two moieties so as to reduce the formation of exciplex.

Ruthenium(II) complexes containing tetrazolate group: Electrochemiluminescence in solution and solid state

Article Abstract:

The results about the solution and solid-state phosphorescence emission properties of six [Ru.sup.II] complexes containing various 5-substituted tetrazolate ligands are reported. The photo- and electrochemiluminescence spectra of all compounds revealed a red shifted emission with respect to the Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2}.
