Titanium-containing porous silica prepared by a modified sol-gel method
Article Abstract:
A modified sol-gel method is used to synthesize titanium porous silica (MTP). Nitrogen absorption and Raman and UV-vis spectroscopy is then used to characterize the physicochemical properties of the products. It is shown that the formation of the transparent gel as a precursor led to high titanium incorporation in the silicate framework. MTP also has mesostructured units as secondary pore walls resulting in a higher MTP specific area compared to Ti-Si mixed amorphous oxides prepared via conventional sol-gel method.

Free-energy dissipations via surface intermediates evaluated by the frequency response method in a catalystic hydrogenation of propene over rhodium
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze free-energy dissipations via different surface intermediates on Rh-metals in the catalytic hydrogenation of propene based on the values of a novel rate constant. The rate constant was determined empirically using the frequency response technique. Two series of frequency response measurements were carried out under different combinations. Moreover, computer simulation for actual frequency response data was performed on a trial-and-error basis.
