Electron-phonon interactions and intra- and intermolecular charge mobility in the monocations of annulenes
Article Abstract:
A study investigates the possible electron pairing in pi-conjugated positively charged hydrocarbons, annulenes such as ([CH.sub.18]) and ([CH.sub.30]) and compares it with that in the positively charged acenes. The calculated results of the highest occupied molecular orbitals [I.sub.HOMO] values, intramolecular electron mobility and the reorganization energies in the positively charged molecules all indicate that the monocations of annulenes cannot easily become good conductors compared with the monocations of acenes, but the condition of the attractive electron-electron interactions is realized more easily in the monocations of annulenes than in the monocations of acenes.

Raman investigation of the N2-O2 binary system as a function of pressure and temperature
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine the band frequency, bandwith and brand intensity as a function of temperature, pressure and concentration from spectra in vibron Raman band and phonon regions. The analysis of band frequencies as a function of pressure at different concentrations enable to determine the environmental shift of oxygen molecules in the mixture which is a result of the intermolecular potential between different types of molecules.

Molecular vibrations at a liquid-liquid interface observed by fourth-order Raman spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
A demonstration of interface-selective Raman-based observation of molecular vibrations at a liquid-liquid interface is presented. When fourth-order Raman spectroscopy is compared with sum-frequency spectroscopy, vibrational coherence is excited by a Raman transition in the former instead of an IR transition in the latter.
