FRANCE: THE USE OF PLASTICS IN ELECTRONICS
Article Abstract:
TV sets, household appliances, telephone sets and computers account for 59% of the total consumption of plastic products in the electric and electronic industries in France. The remaining 41% are for electrical cables and wires. In 1995, the electric and electronic sectors consumed 2.129mn tons of plastic products, worth 19% of the total amount of materials consumed in these two industries. The 1980 figures were 882,000 tons and 15.3% respectively.
