Solvent molecules in crystalline C(sub 60)
Article Abstract:
The amount and status of hydrogen-containing components in the samples of fullerite C(sub 60) have been analyzed using X-ray diffraction analysis, (super 1)H nuclear magnetic resonance, differential scanning calorimetry and gas adsorption methods. To this end, a set of samples C(sub 60)(cr) has been prepared under various crystallization conditions and then thermally treated. Results show that the solvent molecules were adsorbed at the interfaces of the microcrystals of C(sub 60)(cr).

On death numbers and survival times of single dye molecules
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the spectroscopic lifetimes of single tetramethylrhodamine molecules utilized as a sensor for conformational fluctuations in nucleic acids. The kinetic scheme of the singlet-triplet interactions was examined. The oscillation of molecules during fluctuations was then investigated. Results indicated that the random time after which a molecule dies is distributed exponentially.
