Host-guest chemistry using an oriented mesoporous host: alignment and isolation of a semiconducting polymer in the nanopores of an ordered silica matrix

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the preparation of oriented polymer/silica composites by integrating the conjugated semiconducting polymer MEH-PPV into the pores of an aligned, hexagonally ordered mesoporous silica. The photophysics of isolated, oriented semiconducting polymers were also examined. The resulting polymer incorporation was observed by polarized photoluminescence spectroscopy.

Effect of framework polymerization on the phase stability of periodic silica/surfactant nanostructured composites

Article Abstract:

It has been established that synthesis pH affects the phase stability of silica/surfactant composite materials under hydrothermal conditions. Lower synthesis pH leads to a mesophase with a more polymerized structure.

A counterion-catalyzed (S degree H(super +)) (X(super -)I(super +)) pathway toward heat- and steam-stable mesostructured silica assembled from amines in acidic conditions

Article Abstract:

Explanation of the two types of surfactants, which are used to synthesize mesoporous silica, is given. The polymerization rate of the silica is presented.
