Hydrogen evolution reaction on gold single-crystal electrodes in acid solutions
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine hydrogen evolution reaction on the low index planes of single-crystal Au electrodes using HclO4 solutions. The objective is to determine the extent of the sensitivity of the reaction rate to the surface crystallographic structure by the hanging meniscus rotating disk method. Results reveal the large dependence of the kinetics of the hydrogen evolution reaction on gold electrodes in HClO4 solutions with the crystallographic orientation of the surface.

Using the quadratic logistic equation to analyze intercalation of lithium ions in layer-by-layer V(sub 2)O(sub 5) films
Article Abstract:
The number of electrochemical active sites in V2O5 films is determined with the help of quadratic logistic equation (QLE), by fitting the absorbance changes resulting from the intervalence transfer V(IV) --> V(V) in chronopotentiometry and cyclic voltammetry experiments. Departures from the theoretical predictions are interpreted in terms of structural changes in the nanostructured LBL film caused by intercalation of lithium ions.

Electrochemical and electrochronic properties of layer-by-layer films from WO3 and chitosan
Article Abstract:
The characteristics such as the number of electrochemical active sites, the molar absorption coefficient, and the electrochromic efficiency can be obtained using films of WO3 and chitosan produced with the layer-by-layer technique is demonstrated. The complexation ability between chitosan and WO3 allowed the growth of visually uniform multilayers of the composite, with the same amount of material adsorbed in each deposition cycle.
