Prediction of the temperature and density dependencies of the parameters of the average effective pair potential using only the LIR equation of state
Article Abstract:
The density and temperature dependencies of the parameters of the average effective pair potential using linear isotherm regularity (LIR) were studied. The results showed that the density dependencies of the parameters of the average effective pair potential were negligible for densities greater than the Boyle density for which the LIR is valid. An increase in temperature and a corresponding decrease in the depth of the potential well epsilon was noted at the parameter sigma, the separation at which the potential is zero.

The mechanism of the solvent perturbation of the a(super 1)Delta(sub g) -> X(super 3)Sigma(sub g)- radiative transition of O2
Article Abstract:
The rate constants of a(super 1)Sigma(sub g)+ -> a(super 1)Delta(sub g) and a(super 1)Delta(sub g) -> X(super 3)Sigma(sub g)- emissions of O2 were investigated in liquid CCl4, C2Cl4 and C4Cl6. Results confirmed the perturbation model by Minaev, which indicates that the collision-enhanced b -> a radiative transition improves the a -> X transition through intensity borrowing. Both radiative transitions were also found to be bimolecular processes.
