ITALY: MARBERT TEAMS UP MIT COIN
Article Abstract:
Marbert AG of Dusseldorf, Germany, might raise its turnover in Italy to about L 300bn in 1999, up from about L 100bn in 1997. This might include further takeovers, following the acquisition of Bologna-based Limoni Spa, Italy's biggest cosmetics chain, in September 1998. Recently Marbert signed an agreement with the Venice-based retail chain Coin. Twenty-three Limoni perfumeries are to be set up in Oviesse non-food stores that were acquired by Coin from Standa. Until the end of 1999 Coin has the option to take a 50% stake in the company that operates the Limoni outlets.
