Importance of phase change of aluminum in oxidation of aluminum nanoparticles
Article Abstract:
A qualitative study of the intrinsic reactivity of the intrinsic reactivity of aluminum nanoparticles is presented and the importance of aluminum phase change in the oxidation process and the role/stability of the oxide coating are examined. The findings indicate that the oxidation of oxide-coated nanoaluminium coincides with and is initiated by melting of the aluminum core and subsequent mechanical rupture of the oxide coating.

Dependence of band offset and open-circuit voltage on the interfacial interaction between TiO(sub 2) and carboxylated polythiophenes
Article Abstract:
The interface of planar TiO(sub 2)/polymer photovoltaic cells was modified with two carboxylated polythiophenes having different densities of carboxylic acid groups. Both the interface modifiers increase the photocurrent of the cells but lower the open-circuit voltage.
