In situ one-pot synthesis of 1-dimensional transition metal oxide nanocrystals
Article Abstract:
A general and highly effective one-pot synthetic protocol to produce 1-dimensional nanostructures of transition metal oxide through thermally induced crystal growth processes from a mixture of metal chloride and surfactants are presented. The general applicability of the synthetic protocol was tested to V(sub 2)O(sub 5) nanocrystals was tested where 1-D shaped nanocrystals could also be obtained.

Broadband dielectric and resistivity spectroscopy of W[O.sub.3].[H.sub.2]O in the range of [10.sup.3]-[10.sup.10] Hz: Particle size effect
Article Abstract:
The broadband dielectric and resistivity spectra of W[O.sub.3].[H.sub.2]O powders were recorded in a frequency range of [10.sup.3]-[10.sup.10] Hz at temperature varying between 200 and 300K. The permittivity values and the dynamical behavior of the structural water were influenced by the particle size effect and a strong interaction between moving polarons and water molecules were determined.

An in situ force microscopy study of uric acid crystals growth
Article Abstract:
The study investigates how in situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) is used for real-time growth on the (100) surface of uric acid (UA) single crystals as a function of fundamental solution parameters. Layer-by-layer growth on UA (100) was found to be initiated at screw dislocation sites and proceed through highly anisotropic rates, which depend on the crystallographic direction.
