Magnetic behavior of pure endohedral metallofullerene Ho@C82: a comparison with Gd@C82
Article Abstract:
The effect of orbital angular momentum of the lanthanide ions on the magnetic properties of metallofullerenes was examined by comparing the magnetic properties of Ho@C82 and Gd@C82 at the temperature range of 1.8-100 K with an applied magnetic field of up to 5 T. Results showed that isothermal magnetization curves obey the Brillouin function, while their temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility data follow the Curie-Weiss law. The fitting to the Curie-Wiess law for Ho@C82 was found to result in an magnetic moment reduction that is possibly due to the carbon cage crystal field effect.

Electron injection dynamics of Ru(sup)II(4,4'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine)(sub)2cis(NCS)(sub)2 adsorbed on MoS(sub)2 nanoclusters
Article Abstract:
Results show that N3 dye boinding to MoS(sub)2 nanoclusters occurs through the carboxylates. Data further reveal that about 35% of the dye injects electrons into the MoS(sub)2 nanoclusters.
