Mechanism of transformation of precursors into nanoslabs in the early stages of MFI and MEL zeolite formation from TPAOH-TEOS-H20 and TBAOH-TEOS-H20 mixtures
Article Abstract:
X-ray scattering and gel permeation chromatography were used to study the formation of silicate particles when gradually introduced to tetraethyl orthosilicate in tetrapropylammonium hydroxide and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide solutions. Results from the x-ray scattering experiments suggest that the scattering intensity is proportional to the volume of the particles and that it reaches a maximum reading only for cubelike entities. Therefore, it has been assumed that silicon is present within all scattering entities.

Article Abstract:
A study of the fluorination products of [76-84] fullerenes with inorganic fluorides at 500 degrees Celsius is presented. Results indicate that the formation of C (sub)84 F (sub)40 and the high stability of C (sub)84 H (sub)40 are a common underlying cause.
