Article Abstract:

Austrian Ebewe Arzneimittel Gesmbh, which has belonged to the BASF subsidiary Knoll since 1996, increased sales from Sch 825mn to Sch 1.061bn in 1997. Export share amounted to 73%. Ebewe was successful especially in the CIS countries and China, where it markets preparations for the nervous system and oncology. In 1998, Ebewe is to intensify international business and launch new products in Austria. Ebewe is investing altogether Sch 110mn to increase and modernise the production of injection solutions in Unterach. The factory extension is to be completed by the middle of 1999.

GERMANY: SCHWARZ PHARMA SET HOPES ON GLAXO DEAL

Article Abstract:

Schwarz Pharma Deutschland GmbH of Monheim expands in the field of central nervous system treatments through a cooperation agreement with Glaxo Wellcome GmbH & Co of Hamburg. The two companies will market jointly on the German market the migraine drug Naramig that was launched by Glaxo in October 1997. Schwarz Pharma expects the cooperation to yield it a turnover of up to DM 10mn in year 2000. The German market for migraine pharmaceuticals has been growing at an annual rate of 25% since 1996.

Mehr Caprolactam aus Leuna

Article Abstract:

In addition to doubling phenol production, Domo Caproleuna GmbH of Leuna increased its annual capacity for the production of caprolactam to 100,000 t. Also, the company started to produce cumene. Domo Polymers of Gent, Belgium and Leuna, Germany, added the new polyamide Domamid P6 to its polymer range. Domamid P6 is produced from caprolactam.
