Melting curve and high-pressure chemistry of formic acid to 8 GPa and 600 K
Article Abstract:
The melting temperature of formic acid as a function of pressure to 8.5 GPa is determined using infrared absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and visual observation of samples in a resistively heated diamond-anvil cell. At pressures above 6.5 GPa, decomposition led to reaction products that could be quenched as solids to zero pressure, an infrared and Raman spectra indicate that pressure leads to the presence of sp3 carbon-carbon bonding in these reaction products.

Raman microscopy for the chemometric analysis of tumor cells
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to demonstrate the potential of Raman microscopy to accurately discriminate and predict the group membership of benign and malignant prostatic cell lines. The study shows that partial least-squares discriminant analyses (PLSDAs) and adjacent band ratios (ABRs) of Raman data could identify subtle differences between benign and malignant prostatic cells in vitro.

Intracellular chemical imaging of heme-containing enzymes involved in innate immunity using resonance Raman microscopy
Article Abstract:
The visualization, by confocal Raman microscopy, of the intracellular distribution of two enzymes important in the immune eosinophil peroxidase (EPO) in eosinophils is reported. The effect of photobleaching of the Raman signal at 413.1 nm excitation on the reconstructed Raman images is discussed.
