Membrane potentials across cation-exchange membranes with a low-water content
Article Abstract:
The potential difference across homogenous membrane by using effective charge density of a charged membrane with low water content is investigated. The experimental results analyzed on the basis of the Donnan equilibrium theory and the Nernst-Planck transport suggests that ion pairs cause the difference between the effective charge density and the fixed charge density.

Chemical potentials in a three component, 1-dimensional liquid
Article Abstract:
Chemical potential of a dilute solute in a mixed solvent in one dimensional, three component fluid model is calculated. The result reveals that the chemical potential of a solute in a three component one dimensional continuum system and a one dimensional lattice system depend on consumption in the same way.

Excited state potentials and ligand force field of a blue copper protein plastocyanin
Article Abstract:
Ab initio electronic structure calculations was used to study the ground and excited state potentials and force field of the copper ion site of plastocyanin in the oxidated state. The aim of the study was to explore the mechanism of its photodynamics.
