Microscopic inhomogeneity and ultrafast orientational motion in an organic photovoltaic bulk heterojunction thin film studied with 2D IR vibrational spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The conformational inhomogeneity and ultrafast orientational motion within local environments of an organic photovoltaic bulk heretojunction thin film is examined using two-dimensional infrared (2D IR) vibrational spectroscopy. It is found that electron acceptor [6,6]-phenyl-[C.sub.61]-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) molecules reside in a distribution of environments within large domains of PCBM species in the heterojunction with electron donor poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-(1-cyanovinylene)phenylene] that cause their C=O stretch modes to inhomogeneously broadened.

Theoretical study of sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy off electronic resonance on limonene chiral liquids
Article Abstract:
An antisymmetric nonresonant vibrational Raman scattering tensor calculations, based on the direct Taylor expansion of electronic transition moments is employed to study the sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy (SFVS) off electronic resonance on chiral liquids. The results show that the method used is extremely helpful, as it helps in computing nonresonant vibrational polarizabilities whose model spectra agree with the experiment qualitavely.
