"Multipulse" electrochemical/chemical synthesis of CdS/S core/shell nanocrystals exhibiting ultranarrow photoluminescence emission lines
Article Abstract:
Ensembles of sulfur capped, cadmium sulfide nanocrystals (CdS/S NCs) were obtained. The ensembles exhibited photoluminiscence emission line widths of 15-35 meV at 20K. A variant of the electrochemical/chemical method was used to synthesize the CdS/S NCs. The results showed that the use of a train of short voltage pulses instead of a single longer pulse to synthesize cadmium NCs precursor particles was effective because it minimized the diffusional coupling between growing nanoparticles which led to size dispersion for particles which were randomly nucleated on the surface.

Voltammetric and scanning force microscopic investigation of anthraquinone films spontaneously adsorbed on ordered graphite
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze anthraquinone 2,6-disulfonate films adsorbed to ordered graphite electrodes. The study was performed in the electrochemical fluid cell of a nanoscope III multi-Mode system. Experimental results indicated the effectiveness of high-resolution lateral force images in determining the correlation of the structures of adsorbate layers with their electrochemical response.
