Orientational dynamics of beta-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the structure and dynamics of organic dye molecules in beta-cyclodextrin by spectroscopic data and theoretical frameworks. The rotational dynamics of various chromophores bound to beta-cyclodextrin were examined using time-resolved polarization spectroscopy. The fluorescence lifetime was then determined using the time-correlated single-photon counting technique. Results indicated that the character of intermolecular host-guest dynamics is influenced by the relative host-guest size.

Electrochemistry of guest molecules in thiolated cyclodextrin self-assembled monolayers: an implication for size-selective sensors
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the electrochemistry of guest molecules in cavities of self-assembled monolayers of thiolated cyclodextrins on gold electrodes. The molecules were identified by linear sweep voltammetry supporting a detection limit of about 10(super -8) M. Experimental results indicated that guest molecules smaller than cavity sizes of cyclodextrins underwent reduction at the self-assembled monolayer-covered electrode.
