Role of particle size in nanocrystalline TiO2-based photocatalysts
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the influence of particle size in pure and doped nanocrystalline TiO2 photocatalysts. Preparation was performed by a versatile wet-chemical process that yielded near-agglomeration-free TiO2 with well-controlled dopant dispersion and well-controlled particle sizes. Results indicate that particle size has an important role to play in nanocrystalline TiO2-based photocatalysts mostly through influencing the dynamics of e-/h+ recombination.

Photochemical switching of vesicle formation using an azobenzene-modified surfactant
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the photochemical control of the formation and disruption of vesicles in aqueous mixtures of a photoswitchable azobenzene-modified cationic surfactant and an anionic surfactant are discussed. Spontaneously forming vesicles were obtained by mixing a cationic surfactant modified with photoswitchable azobenzene moiety and a simple anionic surfactant.
