Perturbation of the PET process in flurophore-spacer-receptor systems through structural modification: Transition metal induced fluorescence enhancement and selectivity

Article Abstract:

The study shows that simple multicomponent systems in the format fluorophore-spacer-receptor could be designed through the modular approach. It shows that structurally simple fluorescent signaling systems for quenching transition metal ions can be built by maximizing the photoinduced intramolecular electron transfer (PET).

Quantum coupling and magnetic properties of CoCr(sub x)Fe(sub 2-x)O4 (0

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of a series of ~8 nm CoCr(sub x)Fe(sub 2-x)O4 spinel ferrite nanoparticles with composition 0 < x < 1 using reverse micelle microemulsion methods is presented. The results show that the blocking temperature, magnetic moment, and coercivity all are found to decrease with increasing Cr incorporation.

Optical properties of metal nanoparticles with arbitrary shapes

Article Abstract:

The main features in the optical spectra are investigated depending of the geometry and size of the nanoparticles. The results state that the spectra are more complex as the particle has less symmetry and/or has more vertexes.
