Positron annihilation studies of chromophore-doped polymers
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze chromophore-doped polymers using positron annihilation experiments. A differential scanning calorimeter was utilized to observe the heat flow of prepared chromophore/polymer samples as a function of temperature. The positron annihilation lifetimes were then obtained by detecting the gamma-ray from the nuclear decay. Experimental results indicated that the doping of chromophores decreased the glass transition temperature.

Detection method for ionic species based on the electroacoustic effect
Article Abstract:
An electroacoustic (EA) method based on simple pulse modulation of an applied ac electric field is developed, which helps in eliminating the limitations found in conventional EA methods. The results have indicated that the EA signal is proportional to the equivalent conductivity of electrolytes in aqueous solution and hence this new method can be used as a universal detector for ions in solutions.
