Role of nuclearity- dependent properties of small clusters in the nucleation process and thermal hysteresis at the phase transition
Article Abstract:
The phenomenological model of a homogenous nucleation is presented which takes into account the nuclearity- dependent properties of clusters, particularly of the dimers and the smallest oligomers. The findings state that the temperature at which monomers and clusters Mn has equal Gibbs potentials increases with nuclearity n and that the transition temperatures from the monomer to the dimer and to the bulk, respectively bracket this metastability domain.

Dose rate effects on radiolytic synthesis of gold-silver bimetallic clusters in solution
Article Abstract:
The effects of various dose rates of irradiation on gold-silver bimetallic clusters was investigated through electron microscopy and diffraction and X-ray microanalysis. Results indicated that the competition between reduction-coalescence processes and intermetallic electron transfer is largely due to the influence of kinetics. Close association of metal atoms was also found to occur from the early steps of reduction and aggregation.

Nucleation in hydrophobic cylindrical pores: A lattice model
Article Abstract:
A brief description on the nucleation process associated with capillary condensation of a vapor in a hydrophobic cylindrical pore (capillary evaporation) is provided. The findings indicate that the macroscopic estimate of the free energy is consistent with the measured free energy barriers in a hydrophobic cylindrical symmetry of the cylinder.
