Stepwise collapse of monolayers of cyclolinear poly(organosiloxane)s at the air/water interface: a Brewster-angle microscopy and scanning force microscopy study

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the collapse of monolayers of cyclolinear poly(organosiloxane)s that are made up of six-membered rings connected by oxygen bridges and that contain two phenyl groups per monomer unit are discussed. The key feature is the formation of bilayer ribbons, which are connected with the collapse process.

An enhanced sensitivity of alkanethiolate self-assembled monolayers to electron irradiation through the incorporation of a sulfide entity into the alkyl chains

Article Abstract:

Results indicate similarities between the binding energies of alkyl sulfide and sulfur species in alkanethiolates and self-assembled monolayers. This resemblance suggests that the latter entities are involved in the incorporation of sulfur into the alkyl chains.
