Silica-sheathed pyrrotite nanowires: Synthesis and mechanism

Article Abstract:

The growth of silica-sheathed 3C-Fe(sub 7)S(sub 8) products on silicon substrates with FeCl(sub 2) and sulfur precursors at the temperature region of 600-800 degree C is studied. A model that includes the kinetic competition of the adsorption of silica species on Fe2-Fe3-Fe4 units at the 4Fe layer and on the Fe2-Fe3-Fe4-Fe5 units parallel to the c-axis is proposed.

In-situ X-ray scattering study of continuous silica - surfactant self-assembly during steady-state dip coating

Article Abstract:

Spatially resolved 2D grazing incidence X-ray scattering is used in combination with optical interferometry during steady-state dip-coating of surfactant-templated silica thin-films to structurally and compositionally characterize the EISA process. The results obtained provide some new chemical and structural insights into evaporation-induced self-assembly.

Pattern formation of zinc nanoparticles in silica film by electrodeposition

Article Abstract:

An experiment in which a stable pattern formation of zinc nanoparticles is possible inside silica film is described. This pattern could be changed from fractal to dendritic and dendritic to stingy only by changing the growth voltage.
