Solubilization of various fluorocarbons in a fluorinated surfactant/water system: Relation with the design of porous materials
Article Abstract:
The phase behavior of the R (super F) (sub 7) (EO) (sub 8) surfactant in water and the influence of the solubilization of different fluorocarbons in the system are studied. Results reveal that mesoporous materials with a high degree of ordering are obtained from system whose cloud point curve is shifted toward high temperatures.

Quantitative description of the relation between protein net charge and protein adsorption to air-water interfaces
Article Abstract:
The effects of electrostatic charge on the adsorption kinetics and resulting surface pressure at the air-water are studied using a set of chemically engineered variants of ovalbumin. It is proved that the electrostatic charge affects the initial adsorption to the surface, which is due to the image-charge potential.

Kinetic separation of hexane isomers by fixed-bed adsorption with a microporous metal-organic framework
Article Abstract:
The first example of microporous metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for the kinetic separation of hexane isomers by fixedbed adsorption is presented thus establishing the feasibility of the emerging microporous MOFs for their potential applications in important industrial process.
