Spectroelectrochemistry of electrogenerated tetrathiafulvalene-derivatized poly(thiophenes): toward a rational design of organic conductors with mixed conduction
Article Abstract:
Different redox steps involved in the overall doping process of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivatized polythiophenes (PT) were analyzed on equilibrated films and in dynamic conditions using classical and time-resolved spectroelectrochemical techniques. The cyclic voltage of these polymers exhibits an additional anodic wave between the two oxidation steps corresponding to the formation of the TTF cation radical and dication. Polyoxidation of TTF precedes the PT doping while the presence of ethylenedioxythiophene in the PT backbone leads to a reverse situation.

Conductivity, NMR measurements, and phase diagram of the K2S2O7-V2O5 system
Article Abstract:
Nuclear magnetic resonance studies were performed to investigate the construction of phase diagram of the K2S2O7-V2O5 binary system in temperatures of 300-500 degrees Celsius. This system serves as a vanadium-based sulfuric acid catalyst. The electrical conductance of the binary system was measured using a Radiometer CDM-83 conductivity meter. The findings imply that the oxidized form of the catalyst may be used at temperatures below 400 degrees Celsius in the presence of a eutectic composition of X(sub V2O5) equal to 0.17.
