Electroreduction of aromatic oximes: Diprotonation, adsorption, imine formation, and substituent effects
Article Abstract:
Some experimental approaches are described to establish the number of protons transferred to the oximes prior to the first electron uptake. Evidence strongly suggests that at pH 5-8 it is the diprotonated form of the oxime that is reduced and the diprotonation is further supported by the properties of two or three reduction waves observed for some oximes as well as by the strong dependence of reduction potentials on pH.

Supercooling behavior in aqueous solutions
Article Abstract:
Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is used to measure homogeneous nucleation temperatures and equilibrium melting points of different aqueous solutions, all in emulsion form, and a value of the supercooling capacity specific to the solute ([lambda]) is obtained. The results have indicated that [lambda] is correlated with the self-diffusion coefficient of solute molecules of solute molecules in infinitrsre dilution.

Strong covalent hydration of terephthalaldehyde
Article Abstract:
Spectrophotometric and electroanalytical studies indicated that one of the formyl groups of terephthalaldehyde in aqueous solution was present in about 23% as a geminal diol. Stronger covalent hydration of CHO in terephthalaldehyde than in p-nitrobenzaldehyde was attributed to a strong resonance interaction between the two-formyl groups.
