Thermodynamic description of the interactions between lipids in ternary Langmuir monolayers: The study of cholesterol distribution in membranes
Article Abstract:
The possible distribution of cholesterol between inner and outer layers of the human erythrocyte membrane, the interactions between cholesterol and phospholipids in ternary mixed Langumuir monolayers are investigated. It is found that despite a significantly stronger affinity of cholesterol toward phosphatidylcholine, which is main type of the phospholipids, the cholesterol is symmetrically distributed between the inner and outer leaflets of the human erythrocytes membrane.

Study of the interaction of human defensins with cell membrane models: relationships between structure and biological activity
Article Abstract:
The molecular dynamics simulation studies of HNP defensins sequences that are human antimicrobial peptides produced in response to microbial invasion are reported. The results provide insight into their relationship, structural dissimilarities, and different microbial actions.
