Atomically resolved determination of the adsorption sites as a function of temperature and coverage: HS2 on Si(111)-(7 x 7)
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the adsorption properties of H2S on Si(111)-(7 x 7) using a variable-temperature ultrahigh vacuum scanneling tunneling microscope. Results indicate that H2S adsorbs dissociatively at submonolayer coverage with H bonded to a rest atom and HS bonded to an adatom. Findings reveal that adsorption is site selective and that the adsorption site preference depends on temperature.

The effect of CO adsorption at room temperature on the structure of supported Pt particles
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to better understand the applicability of linear-to-bridged ratio of adsorbed CO for investigating the electronic properties of catalysts. The study investigated the impact of CO adsorption on the geometry of small metal particles in Pt/LTL and Pt/SiO2 at room temperature with different support acidities using XAFS spectroscopy. Experimental methodology and results are discussed.
