4D ultrafast electron diffraction, crystallography, and microscopy
Article Abstract:
The progress made in the development of 4 dimensional (4D) ultrafast electron diffraction (UED), crystallography (UEC) and microscopy (UEM) with focus on concepts, methods and prototypical applications are highlighted. The 4D UEM can be used to image nano-to-micro scale structures of materials and biological cells and future applications of these methods are foreseen across areas of physics, chemistry and biology.

Photothermal applications of lasers: study of fast and ultrafast photothermal phenomena at metal-liquid interfaces
Article Abstract:
This article focuses on the fast and ultrafast photothermal (PT) and photoacoustic phenomena observed at solid-liquid electrochemical interfaces. The fast PT phenomenon depends on electrochemical potential and anions in the solution, whereas the ultrafast PT phenomenon depends on interface femtochemistry and hot electron reactions.

Copper and the prion protein: Methods, structures, function, and disease
Article Abstract:
The membrane-bound prion protein (PrP.sup.C ) gets converted into [PrP.sup.Sc] during the disease transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). Its binding with copper in a highly conserved octarepeat domain is studied.
